Sap Buckets as planters

Thanks Patty from Pocket Full of Posies in Rigby Idaho.

Using Sap Buckets as planters is one of the most popular sap bucket crafts. The buckets look so natural outdoors with their naturally weathered patina.

If you plant in them, consider a liner and be sure to pop in a drainage hole or two.

Sugaring off

Maple syrup season in Quebec is in full force, and there it’s called sugaring off! At this time of year, there are many festivals and fun events. Check out this web site for a list of activities. Go sap buckets!

Mint Chandelier

Good ole’ Martha.

Check out the “mint chandelier,” a collection of bound sap buckets used as planters for mint. A great way to use sap buckets - outside where they really belong.

Light em up- Sap Bucket Chandelier

What a unique use for old sap buckets! You can punch holes in each sap bucket to let the light shine through, then tie the sap buckets together with craft wire (or, if you’re very careful, barbed wire) by wrapping the wire just under the lip of each bucket. Use more wire to make a hanger, fill the sap buckets with candles and, voila, you have a beautiful antique sap bucket chandelier.
